"dirty mesh" is one of the many so-called terms of endearment that has been given to aaron mesh along the way and, while its not one of my favorites, (nor his, i suspect) in this case it is quite fitting. on saturday morning, josiah and i rolled up to st.elmo storage to help the martins move their stuff, and discovered mesh resting on the loading dock, as see here. i have to admit that between the shorts, red t-shirt, nappy blue NYPD hat (ever the patriot!), and the well developed mullet, that i didn't recognize him for a moment or two when we pulled in. i glanced at him and thought he was just some guy working at the loading dock. weird. (congrats mesh, i think this puts you a photo or two ahead of the competition...)
...
from the things-i-wanna-plug department...
cannon and leah are pregnant! okay, so you may have already known this, but now i've got the pictures to prove it. (its a bit sobering to post these photos after yesterday's heated debates. kinda puts things in perspective, and gives good support to mesh's argument for education.) also, i've been meaning to plug this for a while, but cannon's film production company, barking dog productions, has a website that you should check out, along with this article in the newspaper about them.
also, over the weekend, john totten (if that is his real name) and i threw together a quick-and-dirty website for his band, the quiet ones. the entire new album is available there for download, so do check it out.
finally, regarding yesterday's abortion post. it's good to see everyone weighing in so vehemently. please keep at it. as i was explaining to mesh yesterday, this is, of course, why i surround myself with such smart people. i throw out the tough issues and you guys hash out the details...
Posted by andy at April 8, 2004 10:01 AMIt's also Canon's birthday.
Posted by: JosiahQ at April 8, 2004 11:19 AMIn my defense, I would like to note that your mistaking me for a St. Elmo longshoreman suggests that my sloppy dress is out of the ordinary. Sunday through Friday, I am Dapper Mesh.
Also, I have nice calves.
Posted by: mesh at April 8, 2004 11:52 AMIf there EVER was a press photo for a writer, this is it. Barry Graham's press kit photos have nothing on this shot of Mr. Mesh. This photo needs to be in print.
Posted by: bill colrus at April 8, 2004 07:14 PMYa, "dapper Mesh", lately with that hair and lack of a good shave its dirty, dapper, mullet mesh.
Posted by: JosiahQ at April 8, 2004 10:01 PMMesh gave me his last Covenant College paper today. It rocks. He's done.
Posted by: jeep at April 8, 2004 10:33 PMCongrats to Cannon and Leah, the sonogram of the baby's foot rocks. Andy, I think you should start a page for sonograms of your friends' (or whoever wants to submit) babies. I would do it, but I think you have larger and more receptive audience than I do. There's something about a sonogram. Check out the triplets of Joel and Jennifer Wells from last year.
Posted by: andyp at April 9, 2004 12:54 AMNice calves Mesh. Do you work out?
Posted by: John totten at April 9, 2004 11:40 AMWith all the questions Leah was asking me at Jenn and Josh's wedding I knew there was a little Kirby around the corner. Can't wait to meet little Van!!
Posted by: Katie at April 9, 2004 12:03 PMI have decided that I am wearing my hair in tribute to Boston Red Sox centerfielder Johnny Damon.
ESPN reports that fans in Fenway Park's "centerfield bleachers wore wigs and beards in tribute to Johnny Damon's new hairstyle. They called themselves Damon's Disciples." I need no wig.
Posted by: mesh at April 11, 2004 02:32 AMOmg thats right! Please come see me and my friends! ;)
