we held what i expect will be our last small-group cookout for the summer of 2004 last night up at the commons on lookout mountain. the weather's finally turning cooler and the sun is setting earlier. by the end of the evening we were huddled around the grill, roasting marshmallows for s'mores over the dying embers. somehow a fitting close to a surprisingly temperate summer here in chattanooga. the photo is from my preparations for the cookout: slicing up tomatoes i found an unstaged still life photograph sitting before me.

cornerstone church is now the proud owner of one marble top baptist church building in the southside of chattanooga. (nearly) everything went smoothly at the closing yesterday and after signing my name and initialing more forms than i had time to read we walked away with the title in hand. (and i don't even own a house yet...)

Posted by: ryan at September 16, 2004 03:27 PMYour picture is making me salivate! I need to plant tomatoes next summer man!
Posted by: Katie at September 16, 2004 05:12 PMi don't understand how you can take a picture of tomatoes and make it so badass. did you sell your soul to the devil? how can i get some of your pictures? do you sell them?
Posted by: will cote at September 20, 2004 12:13 PMwill, thank you for your continual compliments. thanks to you, my photography feels more bad-ass every day. :)
at this point, i'm not selling anything, although, i do keep hi-res copies of everything and hope to be able to sell some stuff eventually. rumor has it that 'external monologue' is getting a revamp on its one year anniversary (10/26/04) but there's alot of work to be done if that's gonna happen. one of the upgrades i'd like to include is the ability to buy certain pictures. thanks for asking though -
Omg thats right! Please come see me and my friends! ;)
