more rooftop dancing from new year's eve in new york, williamsburg to be exact. i'm not even sure who this is actually - isaac maybe? and anna? i took a bunch of pictures that night just holding the camera up above my head and managed to chop off alot of heads.
...
day number three back at the office and i'm already headed out for the day on a business trip. 3 hours to monroe, georgia -- so i'm off...
Monroe is only 30 minutes from Athens. Email me if the Coptix entourage wants to drop by for a meal or something.

Posted by: Free John Tottens at February 2, 2005 06:11 PMI heard from some cool French artists now living in NYC that Williamsburg is the next Soho. But I'm so out of my element, I wouldn't know the difference. They've moved to Long Is cuz they can't afford the Williamsburg rent. Is this true city kids?
Posted by: katiek at February 2, 2005 09:57 PMwilliamsburg will be the new soho when julia roberts moves there. i mean sure, it's been upgraded a bit from warehouses to warehouse "art spaces," but just barely. over half the buildings still have aluminium siding on them, so. and most of the corner stores only sell corona and plantain chips. and you can still get mugged there... :) yes, the rents are excessive there, especially considering the crappy condition of most of the buildings. but that's partially because it's really close to manhattan... i love how people fight endlessly over whether a neighborhood is too gentrified, or too hipster, or too clean. i mean, too clean? where's the problem? it's all about image, i guess. speaking of rumors, i heard chattanooga is the new athens.
Ever since Socrates moved here, yeah.
Posted by: mesh at February 3, 2005 01:35 PMit's certainly got alot of man-love, if that's what you mean.
Speaking of man-love, I'm walking across the room to hug n' smooch on Andy right now...it's a joyous thing, that prodigal son return thing, or, well, "re-entry" as Andy or ye Percy types might put it...
Posted by: JosiahQ at February 3, 2005 03:03 PMwe looked at a few places in williamsburg. this one super huge loft but you had to share a bathroom with five other apartments. and they still wanted to charge $1200. that's some bull-stanky.
Posted by: anna at February 3, 2005 03:59 PMi'm so tired. i've been up for so long and it's only 8:30. andy (and other photo lovers) go check out this guy
