kirby film update

my old roommate cannon kirby has been working on a new film. they've just released the trailer for "rowboat" and he'd love to get some feed back on the trailer (windows media player format). please do, check it out. the local newspaper also did a story on them recently:

[Producer Joel] Batts, 30, describes "Rowboat" as "an existential 10-minute trip" reflecting the admiration of cowriters Kring and Dustin Kirby for David Lynch, the auteur behind "Blue Velvet" and "Mulholland Drive."

Terrific trailer. I really liked the contrast of "warm" and "cold" images in the cuts between the small boy and the boat. Very evocative.

My only concern (if you're looking for contstructive critique) is that the therapy shots in the study look more obviously DV, what with the flatter lighting.

I want more!

The trailer was beautifully soothing...but then again there was something ironically 'cold' about it...oh, mesh said that too...good luck Cannon.

awesome. good job, guys. it only took me 1/2 hour to download the whole thing on my home computer (fricken dial-up), but the trailer was excellent. when do we get to see the whole thing? having a screening in NYC, perchance? :)

Very impressed with the images like Mesh said, mixture of warm and cold. I liked the empty rowboat image and the images by the fire. I was wondering if you are suppossed to hear dialogue during the trailor. I couldn't hear anything except the barking dog. Which my son loved alot :)
