Backyard Treasures

Blog posting here at loapher.com has slowed to a crawl. I suppose I've been busier in general, but I've also been taking fewer pictures. I think when I fall out of the habit I realize how intrusive it can feel to have someone constantly snapping photos at gatherings and I become more self-conscious about taking photos. Perhaps this is a good thing. I'm sure many of you are thankful for the not having the lens in your face lately. The next couple weeks should provide good opportunities for photography though, so hang in there. I'm going to the beach next week and that's always fertile ground, so to speak.

I've been spending most of my Saturdays of late working on my yard. It's so overgrown from years of neglect that I'm constantly finding things buried in deep grass or rocks. This little guy turned up last week. There's something very sad about these little frozen creatures. I think it reminds of the point in the Chronicles of Narnia where Mr. Tumnus is discovered turned to stone. (Is it Tumnus? Am I mixing up stories? Lion/Witch/Wardrobe right?) Anywho, Saturday turned up a sadly deflated bouncy ball along with an ever-growing pile of rocks, not to mention a jungle of poison ivy which I'm sure I'll be paying for over the next few weeks.

ah, poison ivy.. if you're as lucky as me, you'll get it in spades, as well as in eyelids, and a shot to the hind. "alrighty, drop yer pants!" the nurse shouted as she walked into the room. "This one's goin' in yer butt." blush. pay money. i need insurance. get a real job. tricycle.

I'm telling you dude, that house is haunted. Have you found any bones from the skeletons of the children killed in that house?

I'm serious, all these things you're finding are part of one helluva story, you need to document them all, put the pieces together, and blog the whole thing.

That's a great find! I'd rather have this little guy than the cheap cinder blocks around my trees funkin' up my backyard! poor landscaping ugh...
